Wild Ferns Manuka Honey skincare products all contain Active AAH 650+ (Active Antibacterial Antioxidant Honey 650+), a uniquely tested manuka honey. The honey is trademarked and strictly controlled to ensure only the best manuka products contain it.
Manuka honey is also highly cleansing, is a natural anti-oxidant, improves skin regeneration, and is an effective moisturiser.
New Zealand manuka honey is a wild honey collected by bees from the flowers of the native manuka tree. This unique honey has some remarkable properties, which have been the subject of extensive scientific research.
These studies have shown that manuka honey has natural antiseptic, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties.
None of the Wild Ferns products are tested on animals.
Ingredients:
Ingredients we have excluded from the Wild Ferns ranges include parabens, mineral oil and, in a majority of cases, lanolin.
Parabens - are commonly used preservatives found in cosmetics, pharmaceutical and industrial products and some food. Parabens prevents the growth of yeasts, moulds and bacteria and preserves the shelf life of a range of everyday products including skin moisturisers, shampoos, soaps, toothpastes and make-up. There are concerns that parabens can cause cancer however there are no proven studies to support this claim.
Mineral oil - is commonly used in skincare products though ironically can be quite drying on the skin.
Lanolin - is a very moisturising ingredient, however some people have sensitivities to it. Therefore, we felt there was no reason to have lanolin in any product range other than Lanolin itself. However, it is important to note that lanolin has other properties that make it a beneficial ingredient in skincare. It is because of its binding qualities you will find it in our Wild Ferns Manuka Honey Lip Balm but, for those with a sensitivity to lanolin who want a manuka honey lip balm, theWild Ferns Manuka Honey Lip Care is lanolin-free.
Wherever possible we have used natural ingredients. Synthetic preservatives have been used in some instances to prevent any bacteria growing in crèmes following leaving the sterile environment in which they are processed. These preservatives also act to increase the longevity of the crèmes.
